- One of the interesting and potentially beneficial aspects of this different way of delivering this molecule this drug, is that not only does it offer up the potential of the drug not getting damaged by the TPA, by the blood clot dissolving drug it also offers the potential of delivering more drug to the area that needs it, less drug to the areas that don't need it. And also some additional, probably beneficial effects of the nanoparticles themselves that are helping to get the the agent there. And to drill to that down into that a little bit more, these nanoparticles that the authors constructed have antioxidant capabilities in and of themselves, that in animals are reduce the damage from ischemia. So there's a little added benefit from there. And, the way that the nanoparticles themselves are activated to release the drug, in an acidic environment is something that may help them to target the ischemic parts of the brain more than other parts of the body because in these areas of real ischemia there is an increase in pH. They are, there is a decrease in pH. They are acidic.
