- We have a lot of room for improvement. And one of the areas that is very promising, is something that we call neuro-protection. Something that reduces the damage to the brain, that low blood flow has, until we can get that artery open with drugs or with thrombectomy. And there's been a lot of research on neuroprotective agents. And most of them have been successful in animals, but have failed in humans for a lot of different reasons, that are really too long to talk about, but there are a lot of different reasons. This one drug neuronatin has a really promising effect in humans, in a subset of people for neuro-protection, for keeping brain alive, until the blood vessel can be opened. But it needs some help. It is in its current form, it's got a problem, which is that you can't give it at the same time as tPA and you really have to be able to do that. So this new formulation has great potential for allowing us to give it at the same time as the blood clot dissolving drug and with potential great benefit for patients that are at risk of not having a good outcome because it takes too long to get the blood vessel open.
